The Plainedge School District seeks qualified candidates to fill a probationary position as a Computer Science Teacher in the High School.

Job Description

• Teach Regents-level and/or college-level mathematics courses with a focus on student mastery and academic excellence
• Prepare students for success on New York State Regents examinations and college-level assessments.
• Use data-driven instruction to assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Implement a high-quality foundational Computer Science course
• Promote students' comprehension and understanding of uses and applications of technology
• Design projects to enhance classroom activities
• Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans
• Utilize professional development opportunities to increase mathematics and computer science knowledge and pedagogical skills
• Work with the administration and technology team to ensure initiatives are being met
• Design real-life, engaging learning experiences that employ technology and implement units of study aligned to the NYS Computer Science & Digital Fluency Standards

Job Qualifications

Candidates must have NYS Computer Science and Mathematics 7-12 certifications and requisite NYSED fingerprint clearance.
