Job Description

An Elementary Special Education Teacher leave replacement position for a Special Class setting (9:3:1) is available for the period of November 4, 2024 - February 14, 2025.  

Job Qualifications

Candidates MUST have a Students with Disabilities 1-6 Certification.  Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities and developmental delays is required.  Experience working in a small, special education classroom (9:1:3) is strongly preferred.

Other preferred skills include but are not limited to the following:

• Ability to build good relationships with children, parents, teachers and social workers
• Ability to work well with children from different backgrounds who have different abilities
• Well-organized and self-driven
• Ability to manage the classroom despite challenging behavior
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Compassionate, kind and patient with kids
