Job Description

• Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents, and staff

• Counsel students, staff, parents/legal guardians for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems, resolving conflicts, and provide referrals to appropriate professionals to ensure successful student outcomes

• Participate in child study team meetings

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions

• Willingness to be involved with school community

• Well versed in crisis intervention

• Ability to work with family members and other individuals in a child’s living situation to help support their adjustment, learning, and development

• Knowledge of, and working relationships with outside agencies that support students and families

Job Qualifications

Candidates must possess a New York State School Social Worker Certification.
